2023 and Beyond

Kegworth Heritage Centre

It's back! For the first time since 2018…

2023 Advent Calendar - Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

For each day of Advent, we’ve selected a photograph from the Kegworth Heritage Centre archive. To see what’s behind the window, you just need to hover over the date, and then click to enlarge the photo.

Unlike a real Advent Calendar, you can’t cheat and open all the windows at once…good things are worth waiting for! But if you miss a day, tough luck, it’ll get opened automatically.

NEW - This year we've added a comment box where we'd love you to provide more information about any of the photos, especially dates or people's names. The information will be added to the database in the KHC Collection of photos. When you leave your comment, please include which day/photo it refers to!

By the way - if you’re viewing this on a tablet or smartphone you’d best rotate your device to landscape mode. If it’s a phone with a small screen, it’ll probably be a nightmare before Christmas; ask Santa for a bigger one!

#6 - A quick look at Kegworth Remembered revealed that this photo was shown there earlier this year, and it appears to be a team from A W Dakin Hosiery on Packington Hill around 1937-1939. The only name we have is Nancy Barron (nee Johnson), 5th from the left.

I believe Hollands Way was built in 2006, and is not showing here,  so photo is 2005 or earlier.
